Entertainment!

Duuuude, this is one boring website. Why do y'all keep coming back?

I'm having fun taking pictures though... With my new
Lumix FZ35 which, if you buy via here, I will get
another seven cents. PIMP!
My muses are growing up, and I can't muse on them any more. The Blog world has been taken over by facebook. Blogs are more and more about making a few dollars. (P.S. if you do the whole ad thing or Amazon or whatever, you will make a grand total of very few dollars a year, unless you are really willing to pimp your blog. Which defeats the whole purpose of blogging.) Comments are often spam. Except for my USUAL commenters, who are witty and brilliant and actually better than the posts, usually. I'll never get rich. I'm BOOOORED.

My stats are fun to look at though: most of my Google hits are from people looking for 'Parang' or 'Hangy Boobs'. With occasional hits by demented Edward Lear fans. Not sure if this bodes well for humanity.

I need a challenge. I've been doing LOTS of writing, secretly. I'd really like to submit a few articles to magazines but I'm terrified! Tell me my faithful readers. I know it's been a while since I wrote anything here that was "good", but if you think waaaay back, what do you think is the best of my writing? What could be re-vamped and sent in to an editor? What kind of writing would you like to see from me in the real world?

Failing that? Entertain me. Tell me a joke. What are you there for anyway, your looks?

P.S. Moist von Lipwig is doing well and has eaten TWO worms. It would have been three, but Chas brought the worms to show me WHILE I WAS HAVING A BATH, and decided to rinse the compost off them, and one fell down the sink plug. I gave up on my bath at that point.

And there I was thinking I needed entertainment!
Oh, Darlin', You have to remember how good you are at this writing stuff. I've missed your musings and your stories. What I liked were your reflections on the parenting dilemmas we all face(d) and your wry comments on good parenting in the fray. But that's just me. If you have to shift your focus because of growing up kids then I'll go along with you. Secret writing? Now that sounds like fun.

Thanks Grandmother, I loved writing about parenting and I still do! I would like to write for parenting mags, and hopefully help other mums learn from my experiences.

Having attempted the whole find-an-agent-thing, I have to tell you it's really as hard as they say it is.

Not giving up, just sidetracked.

Good luck, though.

No giving up!

I think a niche site about Edward Lear is in order. I'd stay a fan!

To make you laugh, click on my link on today's site. I think your boys would like it, too.

I was going to ask you how you're comment was dated JULY when the rest of us are stuck here in April ... but then I remembered - you're in England and they do dates differently there. So. No. you DON'T have a time machine and I can screw my head back on straight and the world is good again.

I think you should write about what it was like growing up in Trinidad. Surely Ajoupa and Rory and Bunty and the Rainforest all contributed to who and what you are - and there MUST be stories. Remember ... YOU lived it. WE didn't.

True, Lou (that rhymes!!). I have a whole bunch of experience that few writers have. But where do I start?

What about writing for the writing magazines? About using your experiences as a mother to write for parenting mags, your experiences in Trinidad to add colour to your articles, etc?

Thanks womagwriter, you are right. I just need the guts!

There is only one thing certain in the writing business - you've got to sub it to pub it!

And yes, we need more Edward Lear...

Feel the fear and do it anyway! That's what I do whenever I go for one of these Data Analyst jobs. And then I surprise myself when I figure something else out and it works! Yesterday I figured how to predict future trends in Excel!!!

And it felt good....
